Your existence is eternal

It ended up a "bit' longer than I intended, but I couldn't bring myself to leave any part out. Old piece though, really old....

"Pleasure him,
Be the better animal and keep him company."
'Tis had been your first commandment.
You were the result of  an afterthought;
Second choice as always will thence be,
Mama.

You filled the most distinct of gaps,
Coming forth from a fragile rib,
Yet wielding strength like none other.
The company of you bringing wisdom,
For he did better naming hippos.

The entire essence of creation,
Edging on a stray-away in your absentia.
You had be there to give him the push,
You, Mama;
You lit him to life.

Mama, you undermined perfection,
Language fails in your description,
Beauty hardly begins to define your lustre.
You put him to an edge by your intelligence,
Your smart suggestions made him find his limits,
And your gentle touch was everything.

Mama,
You’d been the mother earth had craved;
And so he'd called you his.
He'd named you mother.
Crowned you queen of all living.

Mama,
You bore all there is to bear,
With eyes humming a tune of ice and fire.
Your hair had fall in fiery waves,
Your feet tapping in the lightest of dances.

Mama,
You’d been the genius and beat the standards,
You’d set your marks and your rule was limitless.

Queen,
Goddess of worship,
Altar of thanksgivings,
The perfect mate,
First wife,
Mother.

You glowed and always did,
The shimmering lights diffusing all around you.
Daisies twirling in your hair,
And roses spread at your feet.
Attraction of your age;
Everything.

So Mama, time passed
And so rebellion birth with the years,
Darkness setting forth;
To test its dubious wisdom and try his crafty deception.
He’d done you in though;
Spun his thick blind webs and set the bait
Putting you right in.

Mama,
He’d failed, for you never were deceived.
You’d walked right in,
Setting yourself the very first sacrifice.
All in your accord,
You let spread the web,
And lay in.

Mama,
The drums had stomped,
Gongs resounded over,
And creation had wept.
Leaves withering as the winds brought forth dust,
Till earth began the age of drought.

Mama,
The healthy breeze was long gone.
Judgement was evident and all was threatening a fall
It was over.

ii.

Mama,
Murmurs arose and accusations flew forth
Even he had set it your blame
Hoping to heap the fiery anger upon your poorly self.

His love had become myth then.
Mama,
His cares had become lost then.
In meekness you bent your knees.

You were gift pain,
Sentenced to eternal subjection;
Submission to he who hardly existed in your absentia.
A forever to keep your eyes low,
Pain in your only joy to become;
An eternity to remain near to earth.
The earth you had birth into life.

Mama,
It must have hurt so much,
Yet the records fail to mention your wails.
You had cramped over,
Your pain rebirthing every full moon.

Mama,
Your strength faded in deceit and your senses lied to you.
Your songs became sad tunes,
Your heart tore over and your hopes became myth.

Years passed, Mama
You were left to hope in him; and of course he drift away
Letting you bring a generation to life in your tears.
Your pain, Your hopes.

Mama,
Alone, you buried the frail ones.
In sobs, you tied the wounds of the daring ones,
And you watched them also;as they ultimately walked away.
Leaving you to your tattered soul;
The soul subject to death.

Eventually your nightmares had been of dead babies and,
Your daily horrors of murderous teens.
Mama, it must have hurt so bad.

Even yet, Mama you bring life.
Forgetting how it hurts;you wield so much more,
Even in subjection;
You remain the spell,
The lyric,
Life.

He wasn't the father of all living,
Creator there is,
And mother you are.

Mama,
You’re the goddess;
The spell,
Magic,
Beauty.

Now you’re gone,
And no matter if we never met;
Even as no moment dedicates to mourn you,
Yet I would drown in my tears just to see your face;
And mourn you till the strength leaves me.

My goddess
Mother,
Eve,
Me.

Best in beauty

This is a selfhype rendition It was my birthday a couple of weeks back and I realised that I actually love myself more than I let on. So I'm doing this as a special dedication to the finest girl I've ever set my eyes on out there. Here's a note to myself, filled with words that I'd love to hear from time to time. Words I hope I believe when I tell myself, especially on the bad days.  I miss having a full length mirror here. You can imagine how frustrating it is to have this full package and not be able to stare at it when I walk out of the shower every morning. I went through my gallery earlier today and didn't know when I exclaimed "Omooooo". I'm hella fine and I'm not even capping. If I were a guy, I'd woo myself. Heck, if I were another female, I'd spend a lot of time wondering what my skin care routine is. The beauty routine. And I won't even realise when I'd be like "Girllllll, you're fine af. I want to be under your s...

Hobbies are not free

  I don't want to be anything When I was a little girl, I wanted to become so many things. I wanted to be a journalist one time because Jiire Kola-Kuforiji looked like she was having a swell time reading the news on TV. She looked so confident in the information she was passing to the whole country and boy, did she not look so beautiful? A couple of weeks later, my mom had me on her legs in a bus as I watched the conductor count the money in his hand. A lot of notes. He was probably a millionaire, I thought to myself. Then, I decided that becoming a conductor wasn't going to be a bad idea. I got home and we turned everything we could find into a moving Danfo bus. Shouting "Owo e da" and holding a bunch of paper notes.  One day, I overheard the adults speaking and somewhere along the conversation, I realized I had been an idiot all the while. The real cash was in banking. There was a whole machine that counted money because they had so much money to count in one day! W...

It's the hope that kills

The thoughts in my head are haywire.  My co-worker had a fourth baby last month. I got married a decade before her, yet I have none. The baby's cries irritates me, but I don't get to complain. She tells me everything; too many details. She asks me to borrow her money sometimes, not that I have much to spare, but I can't hold back or I'd be termed the hater.  The baby is just a baby. I can't say if he's beautiful or not; I just get disgusted that she's having it easy. There was another baby today; a little girl, I heard. I should've gone to say hello to the mother, but she's also just another young girl who shouldn't be having babies of her own; she's barely twenty. Yet someway, she had no problem conceiving when she didn't want a child. She should still be in school, but there she sits welcoming well-wishers with no thought as to how she intends to raise the thing she has just birth.  I ask why I'm so unfortunate in this regard. It...
